My mom and I decided to go to the Shakespeare festival. It was a gorgeous night in the 70's I think, quite a change from the awful 90's. We got there and at 7:30 I said to mom I got to find David. I went behind the trailers and saw a bunch of men still practicing the Caesar death scenes. I see one guy playing with his sword hitting grass with it and I knew it was David. He saw me and yelled I have been trying to call you. He said later he wanted to say hi, and thank me for coming to the play. He is just so personable. I told him I had seen him at the Botanical Gardens and did he notice I had followed him. He looked so startled and I laughed and said another Denner had seen him and was too shocked to say anything. I told David I had so many pictures to take and to look like Edmund. He said he couldn't do Edmund in a dress but he did try. His face was so funny with him trying to glare and not laugh at the same time, I couldn't take the picture. I talk endlessly when I see David but here are a few things he said:
I asked him if he was going to see Brad's baby next month and he said Oh, his wife is pregnant???? He says Michael O'Leary is a great guy. Beth Ehlers and Laura Wright are good friends of his. He likes CC, SG, KZ, and SG too. He said he didn't work that much with Gina to know her. HUH, I thought they worked together a lot. He asked about Tom Pelphrey's contract. I told him about Cassie and Josh kissing and told him if he was back at the show he would probably be kissing Stephanie now. He said Yea, that is how it goes but she is so young. He never watches the show-has never watched the show. I gave him some gossip on other soap stars and he didn't know any of them. I told him about Brad Cole's one day supposed contract and he said the show was really cutting down on salary. He said he doesn't think he will ever be asked back to the show. That Ellen Wheeler keeps the cast that she thinks the show needs. I said Well, she is wrong and the ratings reflect that. The show used real swords in the play, if he lost his microphone it would cost him $600.00. I did try to get him to raise his toga to get a better picture but he was shy and said he wasn't going to flash me. I told him Angie said Hi. He said someone was really staring at him in the play and wondered if it was a Denner. I said I didn't know. Later when I think of more.

Hey, "Denners" is pretty catchy! I *think* LW actually first used the term at the 2004 gathering.
Gail for your several reports on meeting and talking with David during his St. Louis performance. I have truly enjoyed reading them and appreciate your taking time to do this. David is indeed very appreciative of his fans and always most gracious. Its nice he remembers us "denners".
