Yuku free message boards

Well, Denners, as you may have noticed, the Den board got migrated from ezboard to yuku. Some things may appear the same (I've been plugging away trying to get things as familiar and comfortable as possible) and you'll notice some new things. Since this may be a learning process for some of us, myself included, I thought it might be a good idea if we started a thread offering some info and tips about some of the features you'll be seeing. Anybody that wishes to contribute to this thread, please feel free.

Anyway, here are some to start off with:

1. The Log-In area is no longer on a separate screen. It's at the top of the board.
2. The Ez Inbox doesn't exist here. If you have messages in your inbox you wish to save, I suggest you go to a board that's still an ezboard (before they migrate) and go to your inbox from there. On a yuku board, you'll see a link to your e-mail account at the top instead.
3. There are options near the top right to subscribe to the Den Message Board by RSS feed or by E-Mail.
4. The ezboard ring (where you could jump around to various ezboards) is gone.
5. When you go to post a new topic, you'll see a new screen, one that has a lot more options and features for how to post, including indentations, bulleted lists, undo, etc.
6. The smiley icon is, of course, the little yellow smiley face. If you click on that, you'll see the Den's gallery of smileys. The little grey boxes above them change how you view the gallery (ie, single line, double line). You can click on those and they'll be inserted. If the smiley lands someplace in your post where you don't want it, you can click on it and drag it around your post.
7. The icon to the immediate left of the smiley is the Photobucket icon. I have linked all the Den banners and images that we have in our Photobucket account to that, so if you click on it, you'll see our folders (David, David Banners, etc.). You can open those and insert any of those images into a post, like this one from the David folder: (you can even resize it but be careful or you'll distort the image, as you can see below!) The only folder you won't be able to get any images from is the Video Clips folder. The upward arrow at the top left of that screen is for the folder directories. Same as any other directories on your computer, it brings you back the directory or screen before it. So if you've opened the "David" folder and wanted "David Banners" instead, you just back up using that arrow.



8. I'm still learning things so the avatar and signature areas are still empty. I have to figure out how to import those.
9. Back on the forum main page, you'll see little minus signs (-) at the top right of the forum categories. That is for collapsing the category if you don't want to see it. Then it'll turn into a plus sign (+) so you can expand it again if you want. You'll notice these same signs at the corner of post threads, giving you the option of hiding or expanding posts.
10. Yay, we now have links for the "Last Post" in all the forums!
11. We have a new chat room built right into the board, looking like another forum. It's the very first forum, called "Den Chatroom." When you enter, you may see some lines of previous chat, even if it's hours old. You'll also see some "toys" in there. Yuku's chat feature is still rather buggy for a lot of boards (bugs include sounds not playing, unable to change nicknames.
12. You'll see tiny little circles next to people's names by their posts. When the circle is blue, that person is online.
13. There is a Forum Jump link at the bottom of the topic lists so that you can jump around to different areas of the board.
14. You now have the option of adding a reply the usual way with the "Add Reply" button or using the "Quick Reply" screen at the bottom.

Okay, I think that'll be about it for now. Like I said, I'm still figuring things out and tweaking things myself. Hope this is helpful!
