I apologize for the language... but it just seemed to fit. (And the automatic board censors have 'cleaned up' the "F" word anyway. LOL, I even had to deliberately misspell "c0cked" to get it in, instead of "thingy"!!)

Chapter 6:

        Edmund! Cassie gasped.

Jonathan shoved Cassie roughly, pushing her away from Edmunds now limp body, and aimed the gun straight at her head.

Women! Jonathan admonished with his typical mocking sneer. Dont you know that its the prince thats supposed to do the rescuing?

Cassie opened her mouth to respond.

Shut up!! Not a word woman, or I swear I will use this thing! Jonathan tensed, his teeth clenched and grasping the gun handle with both hands now. Cmon Auntie Cassie, Jonathan c0cked his head to one side, the irony of the situation cant have escaped you, Jonathan taunted. He was drunk, again. After all, it wasnt really that long ago that Uncle Eddie here had you all chained up in a Tower now was it? Jonathan kept the gun levelled at Cassie.

That was a lifetime ago! snapped Cassie, defying Jonathans order to keep quiet.

Ah, ah, ah! Jonathan warned. Funny, you were with my Dad back then, werent you? Jonathan continued, unperturbed. And now youre with his face? Jonathan leaned forward and whispered conspiratorially, between you and me princess, how do they compare? I mean where it really counts, huh? Cuz me, Im thinking its gotta be a little confusing a little creepy, actually, to be f**king a dead man with somebody elses personality! Jonathan laughed uproariously, revelling in his own insightful cruelty.

Cassie cringed, but refused to be baited.

Oh my, princess! Aint it strange how history repeats itself? What goes around comes around, huh Uncle Eddie? Jonathan shoved hard at Edmunds unconscious body hanging lifelessly from his one remaining shackle. Whatsa matter? Not so talkative now!! Jonathan laughed again. Cmon Aunt Cassieyou cant tell me that there isnt a little tiny dark piece of your soul that isnt glad to see the Prince of Darkness all shackled up here? Hmmm? Jonathans nostrils flared as his anger bubbled to the surface again. You should be thanking me, Jonathan thumped his chest, not shoving your tongue down his throat! he spat at her.

Youre disgusting! Cassie shook her head.

Flattery will get you nowhere, princess, Jonathan bowed in mock deference, his eyes glaring at her with his own disgust.

Thank God Richard isnt hear to see this you! Cassie retorted.

Oh, right, right the sainted Prince Richard. Noble until the end. How does any man ever measure up? Really, Im curious. Since he was so damn perfect, and all. Eddie here must have been a real let down, huh. And Jeffrey? Well, hes got the face, but his personality really leaves a lot to be desired princessthats gotta be disappointing too. Richard, but only skin deep. Bummer. Jonathan shook his head in mock sympathy.

Cassie glared back, stonefaced, but unable to control the tinge of pinkening blush that darkened her cheeks.

But wait Jonathan didnt miss much. Maybe, youve figured that out! Ha! Took you long enough! So, is that what brings you back to number 2 brother again? The booby prize prince? Jonathan demanded gleefully.

        Edmunds changed, Cassie insisted.

Yeah, so they say. Jonathan sounded less than convinced. But you cant honestly stand there and tell me that you would have given him the time of day if my Dad were still around!

Richards dead. Gone. Nothing can bring him back Cassie started to answer.

Not even f**king Jeffrey? taunted Jonathan?

Listen! Cassie shouted. You asked me a question and Im going to answer it!

Jonathan shrugged and motioned for Cassie to continue.

Even before Richard died there was something about Edmund that got to me. Thats probably why we hated each other so much. Fought so much.

Kinky, Jonathan remarked with a smirk. Cassie glared back, and waited to see if Jonathan was finished. All right, all right. Say what you have to say, Jonathan conceded reluctantly, rolling his eyes.

Richards death changed Edmund. It changed both of us. Edmund and Richard they were brothers and princes, they were they were complicated, Cassie struggled to capture Edmunds relationship with his older half-brother. Look. Who knows what wouldve happened if Richard had survived? Our life wasnt perfect, you know. Your father had difficulty accepting life as just an ordinary man but for Edmund, our life is enough. Its everything

Blah, blah blah.

No! You dont want to hear it, but youre going to listen, Jonathan! Cassie demanded.

Wrong, princess, Jonathan thrust the gun in Cassies direction again. Ive heard enough about what a prince Edmund here turned out to be. Nobody tells me what to do anymore! Im in charge here. Not you! Certainly not Eddie! Jonathan jabbed the gun barrel into Edmund, emphasizing Edmunds helplessness.

So what the hell do you want from us? Cassie screamed out of frustration.

You? I dont want anything from you, Aunt Cassie. Unless, of course, you wanna pick up where we left off the night before your wedding No?

Cassie closed her eyes and swallowed hard at the nauseating memories. The grimace on her face and shake of her head said her no for her.

Thats too bad. Cuz, you know maybe I could let you work off Uncle Eddies debt. Huh? Maybe, if I get enough of you Ill be a reformed man, just like dear Uncle Edmund. Is that how it works, Cassie? Jonathan shouted, his fury mounting again. Huh? Did ya @#%$ the bad boy out of Uncle Eddie? Jonathan got right up into Cassies face. Did ya?!

Oh, Im still here, I assure you. Edmunds words were icy calm as his eyes opened slowly and locked onto Jonathan with a menacing cold stare. Edmund drew himself back up against the wall to his full height with as much strength as his anger could fuel in him.

Edmund! Im so glad youre okay! Cassie started instinctively to move to Edmund.

Stay out of it bitch! Edmund shouted, his eyes never leaving Jonathans.
