Jen, I'm not sure what is going to happen to the character of Craig. I know that when they hired Jeffrey Meeks (sp) to play Craig Scott Bryce was not available at the time. Meeks did not catch on with viewers and when Bryce was available a year later they let Meeks go and hired him. It was a plus for ATWT to have an actor back who originated a role and fans were delighted, so this news came as a shock. I heard Bryce was told by phone over the holidays. OUCH!! I didn't watch ATWT years ago when Bryce was Craig…..but I have this past year and he is amazing. He reminds me so much of DAM. His ability to play a villain with feelings and conviction is phenomenal. Ironically Craig's character was in a quad story line, just like Edmund was before his departure. The s/l also included a baby. While Edmund ripped a baby from its mother's womb….Craig tried to kill a baby. Again the TPTB went to far with a character and are now saying " He can't be redeemed." Here's what happened: Paul/Meg/Craig/Rosanna. Paul was married to Rosanna and Meg to Craig, but Meg and Paul were in love with each other. Meg became pregnant with Paul's child but Rosanna switched the results to make it look like it was Craig's. Craig soon found out and not wanting to raise the child of his enemy put a drug in Meg's drink that would cause a miscarriage. But just before Meg went to take a drink he knocked it out of her hand. Craig decided he would raise the child as his own because it was a part of Meg. Meg became suspicious of Craig and had another DNA test and found out it was Paul's and that Craig tried to "kill her baby." She told Paul and he went after Craig. Meg tried to stop a fight with Craig and Paul and got pushed down to the floor and miscarried. What also backfired with this quad is that Meg and Craig were more popular with fans than the star-crossed lovers Paul and Meg perhaps leading to Craig's departure as well. Anyway, many ATWT fans are upset about Bryce's firing and have set up campaigns (petition, postcard mailings, phone calls) to support Bryce. All this info can be found on the P&G board. I myself am sad to see him go.
