Anyhoo ... The play was very good. David's role isn't that big -- he has three scenes, but, of course, he did a great job. And his character is talked about throughout. I believe the play is still changing, as well, since it is a new adaptation. David said it started out at 4 hours long, but they cut it down to 3 ... That may sound long, but it doesn't feel as long as it is. If you do have a chance to go and see the play, I would recommend it.
I met up with David after the play, and I do want to stress that he is very appreciative of the continued support that he gets from everyone here at the Den. He wants to say HELLO to everyone! And he actually phrased it something like this (hopefully I get it right since David thought he was pretty clever
"Say hello to everyone in the Den, and even those that ventured into the living room and down to the Cole cellar."
Yes, I did give him kudos for his creativity on that one.
For those fans who keep hoping that Edmund will retun to Springfield ... I suppose you never know. But to be honest, I think David's moved on. He really is enjoying being on the stage again ... but if a TV job comes up, I'm sure we'll be seeing him on our screens again. We'll just have to wait and see.
I will say that David IS interested in doing a chat here at the Den. It's a matter of scheduling, so we'll what we can work out. You'll be sure to know when/if something's confirmed. Whether or not it works out, just know that David does know you're here, and he does want to chat with you.
As a side note, I brought a friend of mine that lives in the area. She had never seen David on GL, and she really didn't know anything about him. She was impressed with his acting (thought he emoted really well), and she thought he was a really nice guy. So, see, we Denners aren't biased!
