GL: Who Pushed Edmund?
Edmund's threat to expose the truth about the paternity of Beth's baby has everyone in town on edge, and this week, it has dire consequences for the menacing troublemaker.
First, Rick knocks out Edmund with a drug after he again threatens to tell all. Then, "Jeffrey walks in and sees Edmund on the floor with Dr. Rick there hovering over him, so he puts two and two together," explains Bradley Cole (Jeffrey). "Jeffrey quickly reassures Rick that he's on his side. The next time we see all of them is at Reva's house, of all places." Jeffrey informs Reva that he plans to send Edmund, who's now being held captive, back to prison for Alonzo's death.
But Jeffrey spins a different yarn when he interrogates a now-conscious Edmund, who has been tied up. "He threatens him and says, 'You're going back to San Cristobel or else.' Edmund agrees, but Cassie wants him to stay for Will's sake and for the ordination," Cole sighs. "That's the whole enigma of Jeffery's character. We never really know if he's going to do something that's going to turn out to be a good thing or a bad thing."
So, on the day of Josh's ordination, "Jeffrey surprises Edmund and jacks him out of the church. He gives him to another henchman and they take him away," says Cole. "Of course, Edmund escapes and he returns to the church."
When Rick, Jeffrey and Reva realize that Edmund has fled, they follow him to the church and split up to look for him. Reva heads for the stairs, while a syringe-wielding Rick watches from afar. Meanwhile, all of Eddie's old enemies--Beth, Josh, Alan, Bill and Cassie (with Will in tow)--have also gathered for the ceremony.
Edmund retreats to the church loft and, Cole previews, "The next thing that happens is that Edmund falls from the balcony. Everyone comes out from where they are and they all look at each other with guilt on their faces. We don't know who is responsible."
Needless to say, everyone is a suspect. "Edmund is also interacting with Will up on the balcony. So there's all these people and this kid," Cole teases. "We're not sure what happened. They're just all looking at each other."
